There is a holiday called Emancipation Day that is being celebrated inside DC. It marks the anniversary of the signing of the Compensated Emancipation Act that President Abraham Lincoln signed on April 16, 1862.
Since April 16 fell on a Saturday and under federal law DC holidays affect the filing date just like federal ones do, you now have three extra days to get that tax return in or stress over it.
And now let's get to our weekly business that never takes a holiday, calling out the stupidity in our midst and selecting our Shut Up Fool! of the week.
We had many worth contenders for our award this week such as Gov Chris Christie (R-NJ) ,Gov Scott Walker (R-WI) , Speaker John Boehner, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), a group award for Equality Maryland, Mitt Romney and a group nomination for Faux News.
But this week's winner is once again Donald Trump
Not content with pimping the birther crap, he now makes an insensitive racial comment on an Albany, NY talk radio show this week.
"I have a great relationship with the blacks," Trump told Albany's Talk Radio 1300 Thursday. "I've always had a great relationship with the blacks."
Trump said in that interview it's a "very sad thing" such a high percentage of that demographic supports President Obama, for reasons, he believes, that are largely influenced by race. The discussion was spawned by a recent poll of New York voters that found 95 percent of black voters there approve of the president's job performance. The same poll found that the president's overall approval rating in New York stands at 54 percent.
"Look at Hillary Clinton," the reality television star continued in reference to the 2008 Democratic presidential primary race. "Hillary Clinton did so much for the black population, so much and got very few votes." "Look, I tell it like it is," he added. "Then you hear a political reporter go on and say, 'It had nothing to do with race.' But how come she got such a tiny piece of the vote. It's a very sad thing."
Because dumbazz, not only did Geraldine Ferraro and Bill ruin it for Hillary in South Carolina with their jacked up comments about then Senator Obama, we had a golden opportunity to make a dream we African-Americans have had as a people since Emancipation come true and elect one of our own to sit in the Oval Office..
By the way Donald, referring to us as 'the Blacks' is problematic, and I'm telling it like it T-I-S is to your pandering for Tea Klux Klan votes azz with the dog whistle bigoted comments.
Donald Trump, shut the HELL up fool!
