Texas Juan Crow Immigration Bill Has Exception

Well, to all the Latinos who screwed up and voted for Republicans in the last election cycle, your vote enabled the GOP to start enacting Juan Crow laws with their 101-49 supermajority aimed to jack with you..

One bill would make English the official language of Texas.  Another seeks to place an 8% surcharge on all money wired from Texas to Latin America.

Another proposed Juan Crow bill would require police officers to ask every person they stop what their citizenship status is.

And the message you should take from this, Latino/a community?   The same one we African Americans received loud and clear a long time ago.  The Republican Party are not your friends, either.

But back to the subject of this post.   Rep. Debbie Riddle (R-Tomball), the Tea Klux Klan's favorite woman in Austin has filed an eyebrow raising bill that's getting national attention.

Riddle's House Bill 1202 anti immigration bill creates tough penalties for those people inside the Lone Star State who "intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly" hire an unauthorized immigrant. Violators could face up to two years in jail and a fine of up to $10,000.

But peep the exception that is carved into the 'tough on undocumented immigration' bill     You avoid punishment in Riddle's bill if the unauthorized immigrants are hired "for the purpose of obtaining labor or other work to be performed exclusively or primarily at a single-family residence."

Yep, if you're hiring an undocumented worker as a maid, a lawn caretaker or another houseworker, you get to slide on it thanks to the 'compassionate conservatism' of Debbie Riddle..

Texas GOP governance at its finest.   They hate on everyone else but express compassion for conservatives only.

And what did sellout Latino Republican state rep Aaron Pena, who was elected as a Democrat in the Hidalgo County area but switched parties before the legislative session started have to say about it?

“When it comes to household employees or yard workers it is extremely common for Texans to hire people who are likely undocumented workers,” Pena told CNN. “It is so common it is overlooked.”

Yeah, right.   Looking forward to the end of your term in 2012 when the people you pissed off with the party switch   get their chance to vote you out of the HD 40 seat assuming you don't get bounced in the GOP primary after they redraw the district for not being 'conservative enough'.

Love my home state, hate the hypocritical right wing politicians ruining it.    The only saving grace is The Lege only meets every other year until Memorial Day..

Wannabee Union Buster Busted

You know I'm enjoying the fact that Wisconsin Tea Klux Klan governor Scott Walker got bamboozled into revealing his destroy the unions agenda recently that has triggered protests in that state.   .

Hear it for yourselves

Shut Up Fool! Awards- GOP's Trippin' Edition

It's Friday and that means TransGriot readers it's time for this week's edition of the Shut Up Fool Awards.

For those of you who may be surfing here for the first time, every week I shine a bright light on the stupidity and fools among us.  There were plenty of fools to choose from this week, so let's get to it.

The contenders for this week's award were Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) ,2010 Shut Up Fool of the Year Sarah Palin, Rep Mike Pence (R-IN)  Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT), Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA), Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ) , Bill O'Reilly,  2009 Shut Up Fool of the Year award winner Michael Steele, Gov. Paul LePage (R-ME) and Gov. Robert Bentley (R-AL)

But this week's award goes to Rep Louie Gohmert. (R-TX)

While taking part in a Tuesday press conference Republican Reps. Steve King (R-IA), Michele Bachmann (R-MN), Tom Price (R-GA), Jeff Duncan (R-SC) and Steve Pearce (R-NM)  to pimp their efforts to kill the Health Care Reform Act stated while holding up a copy of the bill

“You need to understand how insidious this bill is,” Gohmert said. “This was written by smart people hoping that there would only be a few things removed.”

You prove every time you open your mouth you're not one of those smart people.   As a matter of fact the more you open your mouth, the more embarrassing you are to the city of Tyler that you represent and the entire Lone Star State.

Used to be that Texas sent leaders, statesmen and stateswomen to Congress such as Speaker Sam Rayburn, Sen Ralph Yarborough, Sen and later President Lyndon Johnson, Sen. Lloyd Bentsen, Rep Barbara Jordan, Rep Mickey Leland, Sen John Tower just to name a few.

Now we have people like Louie Gohmert representing this state, and not well.

Rep Louie Gohmert, shut up fool!

Notorious GOP's Reign Coming To End?

2009 Shut Up Fool of the Year Michael Steele's reign as the first Black* chair of the National Conservative White People's Party (oops, the Republicans) may be coming to an end today.

I guess they want a new white leader of their party to match their nearly all white House congressional leadership.   If you think I'm being harsh or overly sarcastic, Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-KS) let the KKKat out of the bag with her 'Great White Hope' dog whistle comment two years ago.

He is facing four White candidates vying to knock him off  while campaigning on the theme that 'they aren't him'.

Umm hmm.    Grab the popcorn, this installment of political drama in Hollywood for ugly people (AKA Washington DC) is going to be interesting to watch.

The election will be held starting at noon CST and carried on C-SPAN.  I expect this sellout will be tossed aside now that they no longer need him to be their melanin enhanced face of their party.  His chances of getting reelected Republican Party chair for a second term are about as good as Michael Vick being invited to a PETA event.

But then again, you never know.
