Memorial Day 2011

Today is Memorial Day, the day that we set aside to remember the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their fellow Americans.

As I strive to remind people, TBLG Americans have not only served, but given up their lives as well in military service for this country

Memorial Day 2011 comes several weeks after Osama Bin Laden was killed during a daring May 1 operation in Pakistan that may lead to expedited withdraw of American troops from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Time to bring our girls and boys home and start spending the money we waste fighting in those countries domestically on our infrastructure.and other domestic priorities.

Happy Mother's Day 2K11

Just wanted to take a moment to wish all the mothers who read TransGriot a very happy Mother's Day!

Yours is the toughest job in the world, and it's even tougher with all the other added headaches such as the Net, cellphones, cable television systems with 800 channels, et cetera.    Know that you raising decent, morally correct and well adjusted children for the greater good of society is deeply appreciated by those of us whose closest contribution to raising kids will be as an extended family member..

God bless you and continue to give you the strength you'll need to do the job.

Happy Easter 'Errbody'!

Well, today is Easter, so I'm going to take the day to go to church, spend some quality time with the family and chill.    If any breaking news comes up or I feel the need to express myself, I'll post something on the blog..

Happy President's Day 2011

Since today is President's Day in the States and a holiday, I'm going to show some love to our 44th President of the United States of America.

Give it up for our first African American one, from Chicago via Honolulu, Hawaii, Barack H. Obama.

He damned sure ain't getting enough love from certain ignorant sectors of our citizenry like Republicans, Fox Noise, the Tea Klux Klan and the birthers.

He even catches hell from so called friends.  But thank God he's the one in the chair right now.

And the FLOTUS is all that and three bags of chips, too.

I'm looking forward to helping him get reelected next year.    Kinda like having someone who shares my ethnic heritage living in the house our ancestors built with their free labor.

We also need to take back the House and give the Prez a Congress he can work with.

Happy Valentine's Day, Peeps!

For those of you in a relationship on a day in which we celebrate all things romantic, I salute you people who have been fortunate enough to find it.

For me however romance has been as tough to find as an unburned LeBron James Cavalier jersey inside the state of Ohio or the Cleveland city limits.

I'm not hatin' on y'all who are in loving relationships.   I just envy you folks who have found the loves of your lives or have found people that love you for the moment.

While I have many talents and abilities I'm blessed with,  love and relationships are one of the things that haven't worked out so well for me in my life.

But one of the things I factored in to my transition decision was the possibility that I could end up alone or there would be long droughts between relationships.   But I've been wandering in the dating Sinai for so long the Israelites passed me a few times on their way to the Promised Land and shook their heads.

Maybe it will get better, maybe it won't.   We'll see.

At any rate, Happy Valentines Day people.   May your relationships be long, healthy and happy ones until death do you part.
